Begitulah keputusan Festival Filem Malaysia Ke-16 Kuala Lumpur 2003 (FFM16) yang berakhir, di Hotel Palace of The Golden Horses, malam kelmarin.

Inilah juga buat pertama kalinya, filem terbaik dalam festival tempatan mencapai kutipan yang hebat di pawagam dengan jumlah RM3.2 juta apabila ditayangkan, Februari tahun lalu.

FILEM KL Menjerit terus bertahan di pawagam sejak ia ditayangkan 24 Januari lalu dengan sambutan yang dianggap semakin baik apabila kutipannya sehingga malam Ahad lalu mencecah RM2.4 juta.

Tayangan filem arahan Bade Azmi itu diteruskan di 17 pawagam di seluruh Semenanjung dan penerbitnya menjangka ia mampu bertahan lebih seminggu lagi.

Jurucakap Tayangan Unggul Sdn Bhd berkata, kutipan yang diperolehi sepanjang 25 hari tayangan di 22 pawagam ialah hampir RM2.37 juta meskipun mendapat saingan daripada beberapa filem import.

“Kita gembira dengan sambutan yang cukup baik ini. Kami amat berharap filem ini terus bertahan di pawagam sehingga musim Aidiladha atau sekurang-kurangnya akhir bulan ini.
